About this event

As part of its low carbon construction tour taking place in 12 countries with a range of local experts, Batimat, the international construction show, is pleased to invite you to a panel discussion at the building centre in London on the 30th of June, with the contribution of our speakers Elaine Toogood, Director, Architecture and Sustainable Design at The Concrete Centre and Cassion Castle, Director and Founder of Cassion Castle Architects and Guillaume Loizeaud, Building Divison Director for BATIMAT.

Following the Paris agreement of 2015, the UK became the first major world economy to pass laws to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to 'net zero' by 2050. Construction is already becoming a key area of focus, primarily due to the fact that it is said to contribute between 20% and 40% of the UK's total carbon footprint, and that construction activities themselves generate approximately 10% of UK emissions directly. Therefore, the industry faces an unprecedented challenge and will need to innovate, make substantial changes and large investments, including technologies that do not exist yet.

Our speakers will share their views and experience in implementing low carbon solutions in the construction sector.

BATIMAT is an international construction show, in Paris from the 3rd till the 6th of October 2022 and gathering more than 1,700 international exhibitors and 270,000 visitors (2019 figures).

This show covers all aspects of the construction sectors: building structure, worksite equipment and tools, construction vehicles and equipment, joinery, IT, electricity and plumbing.
